Special Award for Energy Technology in Building Services – a Wilo Foundation project

The pressing global issues of the natural environment deserve our attention now more than ever. In the period from 2006 to 2012, the “Wilo Special Award for Energy Technology in Building Services” was conferred on 37 innovative students with outstanding achievements in the important field of energy efficiency in building services. This special award provides new impetus for research and teaching on the sparing use of resources and the sustainability of modern building services.

The foundation made available up to 80,000 euros annually to honour the efforts of these talented young scientists. The selection criteria were determined by an independent panel of experts from science and business backgrounds. In 2012 the following university students/graduates were awarded prize money by the foundation. A one-off sum of 5,000 euros went to David Feige (Erfurt University of Applied Sciences). One-off sums of 4,500 euros to Christian Alber and Waldemar Schneider (both at the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences), one-off sums of 4,000 euros to Michael Buller (Münster University of Applied Sciences), Raphael Herreiner (Esslingen University of Applied Sciences), Martin Leverenz (Esslingen University of Applied Sciences) and Daniel Schneider (Esslingen University of Applied Sciences).
